Abstract

ACAS is an independent statutory body formerly under the sponsorship of the Department of Employment (DE). ACAS formerly shared a library management system, BookshelF, with the DE libraries, but with the abolition of the DE, it needed to find a system to replace BookshelF. There was also a need to find a system that would fit with our office management system, enabling networking of the OPAC to library users and downloading of library records to word processing. Adlib offered the best solution to our functional and technical requirements, and has a flexibility which allows for further development of the system.
