Abstract

Is it possible today to construct a building that could be free from major maintenance for 15 to 20 years? In the opinion of many architects and builders the answer is ‘yes’. Several modern developments have played a part in this achievement. One of the most recent contributions which have made this possible is Du Pont ‘Tedlar’ PVF film, a tough, chemically stable, colour‐durable, pre‐formed film finish. It can be bonded to all types of commonly‐used outside building materials with special adhesives to greatly extend their outdoor life and appearance. As a surface on interior vinyl wall coverings it gives outstanding stain and wear resistance.
