Abstract

‘Start‐up’ of the Du Pont Company's polyvinyl alcohol (PVAL) and vinyl acetate monomer plants at La Porte, Texas has been announced. The plant, which which has an annual capacity in excess of 100 million pounds, is the largest single‐line polyvinyl alcohol unit in the world. The ethylene‐based vinyl acetate monomer facility has a capacity of 350 million annual pounds.
