Abstract

The production of powdered epoxy resins demands the greatest care and control if the resulting product is to be uniform, clean and devoid of aggregated lumps. For example, epoxy resin must usually be ground to a fineness of 30–80 microns, with not more than 50% being below 30, and the particles should be predominantly spherical. The softening points are low, and the outlet temperature from the pulveriser has to be kept below 38°C if re‐aggregation, accretion and crust formation are to be avoided.
