Abstract

A two tier ball mill is now available for the mixing and dispersion of materials such as chemicals, powders, pigments and paint resins. Designed for efficient batching processing, the unit is fitted with independent tier drives which enable one tier to remain in operation while the other is unloaded and reloaded. The two processing tiers will accommodate several material containers at a time, up to an overall length of 43in. Each tier incorporates a driven roller and a movable idler roller which can be adjusted to suit different container dimensions. A special rubber covering on both driven and idler rollers provides effective adhesion to containers and is easily renewable if surface wear occurs. Roller speeds of 132rev/min and 190 rev/min, are available on each tier drive to cater for differences in container size and the type of media handled, and a safety interlock is incorporated in the system to prevent drive rotation during speed changing operations. It can be supplied complete with plastics, steel or glass containers to suit processing requirements, or alternatively it can be purchased as a basic two‐tier drive system for use with existing media containers from 4 to 14in diameter. Drip trays are provided on each tier to collect any material spillage.
