Abstract

Traditional problems associated with the grinding of Titanium Dioxide, due to the cohesive nature of the pigments, are reported to have been overcome by the use of the Micronizer — a fluid energy mill that utilises compressed air or superheated steam, breaking down the particle size by attrition. The products residence time is seconds rather than hours, as is the case with other grinding mills.
