Abstract

1) Dicyandiamide Figure XIII The guanidines are a family of epoxy hardeners of which dicyandiamide and its derivates are the most well‐known. DICY is obtained by dimerisation of cyanamide in aqueous solution. This product is characterized by low reactivity. In fact, to obtain good crosslinking, high curing temperatures are needed giving disadvantages such as: yellowing, partial decomposition of a surface coating, substrate deformation etc …
