Pigment developments from BASF Farben + Fasern

Abstract

Two very interesting products have been added to the range of monoazo pigments for printing inks. Both pigments are claimed to be superior to the best competitive products in most printing ink systems as far as transparency, flow, gloss and lightfastness are concerned. Main fields of application are: letterpress and offset inks, in special cases they can also be used in gravure formulations. Solvent resistance of Sico Yellow 2 GT and Sico Orange GST is better than usual in this class of pigments; since, as in all monoazos, it is not absolute, tests should be run prior to their use in solvent‐based inks.
