Abstract

The highly‐reactive cold‐curing Degalan S 4247 developed by the Chemicals Division of Degussa, Frankfurt am Main, is a pre‐accelerated methacrylate resin of low viscosity. It is said to be particularly suitable for quickly and reliably sealing and bonding absorbent materials such as concrete, aerated concrete, plaster, rigid foam, wood, marble, etc and for the production of decorative coatings. Degalan S 4247 cures rapidly in air, becoming completely non‐sticky. It can be diluted with monomeric methyl methacrylate to a pourable consistency for use in lacquer pouring machines and to a sprayable consistency for lacquer spraying plants. If the resin is to be continuously processed with two‐compenent plants, it can also be supplied without accelerator.
