Abstract

Leybold‐Heraeus Ltd, 173 Greenwich High Rd, London SE10 8JA, have announced a new, larger, short‐path still — Model KDT 6 for distilling alcohols, esters, stabilisers and plasticisers, mineral oils, preserving agents, pharmaceuticals, odorising and flavouring materials, cosmetics and the like. A glass degassing stage has been added to the basic design of Leybold‐Heraeus short‐path still. It is separately heated and evacuated and operates as a falling‐film evaporator. The second (distillation) stage, also of glass, is designed as a wiped falling‐film evaporator with an ‘open’ inner spiral tube condenser.
