Pretreatments for powder coatings

Abstract

Powder coatings are becoming more widely used in the finishing of industrial equipment. They appear to be particularly attractive to manufacturers who are thinking of installing a completely new finishing line for a variety of reasons, including the absence of expensive solvents, which effectively go to waste or which must be recovered and which sometimes possess unpleasant odours and represent a certain fire hazard. Powder coatings are less wasteful if only because the overspray can be fairly efficiently recycled.
