Latex binders for pigment coating of paper and board

Abstract

Of the many different types of polymer latex which are now used for pigment coating, those which find the widest application are of the carboxylated styrene/butadiene (SBR) type. Other latex types which are used, often for speciality papers and boards, include polymers of acrylic esters, or butadiene and acrylic esters.
