Abstract

In the photo right a steel test panel coated with Metalhide One‐Pac zinc‐rich primer (right) by PPG Industries shows no rust pitting and less corrosion along the “X” scribe line than a competitive product applied to an identical panel. Both panels were exposed to 5,000 hrs of salt‐spray testing. The one‐package Pittsburgh Paints product gives corrosion protection and film hardness comparable to two‐component primers, but minimises waste by eliminating blending of components. Metalhide One‐Pac primer is ready to use after mechanical agitation; any unused material that is tightly sealed may be used at a future date.
