Abstract

The 250 Mini Motormill is for use in laboratories. This self‐contained unit will produce sample sizes of 250 ml and up to 1 litre in minutes. It has an infinitely variable speed drive from 0–5,000 rpm, giving a maximum tip speed of 18 metres per second. Most products are ground down to sub‐micron levels in very short times and cleaning is a quick and easy process and is usually done by solvent/resin recirculation. Products are simply pre‐mixed and then poured into the machine. No other ancillary equipment is necessary. The system can also be utilised in a multi‐headed mode. This situation is ideally suited to the manufacture of magnetic tape slurries where a uniform sub‐micron particle size is required. Such a system is capable of producing laboratory samples of up to 5 litres per hour.
