Abstract

Construction work has begun on a DM150million (approximately £50m) waste acid recycling plant at Duisburg for Sachtleben Chemie GmbH, one of three West German manufacturers of white pigments, demonstrating Sachtleben's commitment to the protection of the environment. The plant will dispose of the waste products from three German factories, which presently produce 23% strength sulphuric acid in large quantities as a residue in the manufacture of titanium dioxide.
