DSM Resins develops alkyd‐resin emulsions for new generation of water‐thinnable paints
Abstract
DSM Resins in Zwolle (Netherland), a division of the Dutch chemical concern DSM, has developed a new generation of binders, which can be used to make paints with a very low organic‐solvent content (less than 2%). These paints are alkyd‐resin emulsions which can be thinned using water. This is important from an environmental point of view as it enables the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to be reduced.
