Abstract

As manufacturer of thermoplastic methacrylate resins, the uses of which include a biding agent for PVC topcoats and heat‐sealing lacquers on aluminium foils and in paint for road markings and concrete protection, the Industrial and Fine Chemicals Division of the Frankfurt/Main‐based company Degussa AG presented its newly developed product Degalan® LP 65/12 at the Resins & Pigments Exhibition. This product is noted for its very good adhesion to metal. It is used mainly for the production of ship paints on the strength of its excellent weather‐resistant properties. Degussa's thermoplastic methacrylate resins are also suitable for painting plastics and as an anti‐shrink agent in SMC compounds.
