Achieving dominance
Abstract
Chronicles how five acquisitions in 24 months transformed Croda Paints from a medium‐sized paint maker with no noteworthy market share, to a major company with at least 20 per cent of the UK's offshore and onshore heavy‐duty coatings market — plus about 25 per cent of the general industrial paint market. Discusses the background to this transformation, and relates the company's acquisition strategy, costing £15.5 million. Describes the results of the endeavour and briefly considers plans for the future.
