Report on a visit to Egypt, April 1993

Abstract

In April 1993 I visited Egypt following a request to the British Council from the Department of Librarianship, Information and Archival studies at Cairo University. I had briefly met Dr Hesham Azmy (a lecturer at the library school) during his attendance at the International Graduate Information Studies School in Aberystwyth in 1992. He proved to be a most hospitable host at the department and had arranged the programme of visits in conjunction with Valerie Teague, the Director of the British Council office in Alexandria.
