Abstract

The impact of telecommuting on worker productivity is a management issue with a mix of unresolved questions and implications. The experience of Boulder Public Library, in which management and support personnel established pre‐experiment baseline data for comparison with the quantitative and qualitative results of the experiment, is described. This experiment, and subsequent continuing experience with telecommuting, suggest positive benefits in the appropriate environment.
