Abstract

Work Related Abstracts. 1973— . M. $360.00 (1982). Information Coordinators, Inc., 1435–37 Randolph Street, Detroit, MI 48226. ISSN 0273–3234. LC 82–641246. OCLC 2486546. [Previous titles: Labor‐Personnel Abstracts, (1950–58); Employment Relations Abstracts (1959–72).] The maturing of administrative science as a discipline has accelerated so rapidly over the past three decades that control of the literature in this field has become at least as difficult as preparing an exhaustive bibliography on Hamlet. Not only has there grown up a substantial body of theoretical and applied knowledge focusing on the more specific concerns of the workplace, but the attention of scholars, researchers, and practitioners in numerous other fields has turned more and more often to the problems of employers, employees, and their organizational settings for illumination or illustration. Thus the literature of administrative and management science has been augmented by, and is of growing significance to, an audience that includes sociologists, psychologists, educators, arts administrators, political scientists, nurses, historians, economists, environmentalists, lawyers, and a host of others, not forgetting librarians.
