Abstract

As one of the world's least competent handy‐persons, I would start by eliminating all thoughts of being able to profit from any book on boatbuilding. As a result, I am planning on a lengthy stay on my desert island. This means that in selecting titles that would help me “to create a reference/information service” I would need to include also titles that would enable me to retain my personal sanity. In other words, this is going to be a choice geared to my personal interests and not the balanced collection that might be sought in other circumstances.
