Abstract

The development of managers must be viewed as a major investment by all organizations. An organization's ability to hire and train future managers will ultimately decide its success or even its survival. The current economic conditions of increased foreign competition, growing government regulations, lagging productivity, high rates of inflation and interest and periodic raw material shortages, have increased the need for maximizing the benefit any organization obtains from its resources, including personnel. Not only is it the responsibility of management to establish the goals of an organization, but also to co‐ordinate the factors of production (labor, land capital and equipment) to attain these goals.
