Leavening the Westminster mix
Abstract
A job security guarantee is one way of encouraging people in industry to stand for Parliament — and hence improve business representation in Westminster. But there are snags. What will be a company's attitude if one of its employees wants to stand as a candidate for an extremist party? And will a successful candidate be able to revert to his old job after a prolonged spell at Westminster? These and other issues are examined by David Harvey.
