Many excellent FM Websites exist in the USA. Some of these sites are listed below to get you started on exploring the digital world of FM. Societies and other organisations are mentioned which can lead you to relevant material on the practice of facilities management internationally.

International Society of Facilities Executives (ISFE)

http://www.isfe.org/

A site dedicated to the International Society of Facilities Executives (ISFE) set up by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). MIT saw the need to establish an organisation solely for senior-level facilities personnel. The site provides information on the Society's events, as well as providing access to FM resources. One or two aspects worthy of particular note are:

International Facility Management Association (IFMA)

http://ifma.org/

This is an excellent site with a graphical interface to assist navigation around the information provided. The site boasts library facilities, online store and education resources amongst other things. Although parts of the site are restricted to access by members of the Association, most is open access and well worth a visit.

FACILITYMANAGEMENT.COM

http://www.facilitymanagement.com

This site is operated by the American/Canadian School and Hospital Maintenance and centres on many issues relevant within the schools and hospitals sector. Despite this the information is often of general relevance to those involved in the wider FM sphere. This Website is intended to help facility managers stay informed with current issues and the latest products. A useful resource is to be found in the Articles section of the site. This is organised by subject matter that assists in locating the information you require.

Meridian KSI Facility Management Knowledge Centre

http://www.fmkc.com

Explore the FM Knowledge Centre, visit the Coffee Shop and participate in the bulletin board postings and targeted discussions. Check out the Course Catalogue in the Administration building to see the list of available courseware. Purchase books and download common plug-ins from the Bookstore. Search the Library for useful references, Websites, periodicals, and other resources. Access tutorials and job listings or post an on-line CV in the Career Centre. Take a stroll through the booths in the Exhibit Hall of the Conference Centre, or test and expand your knowledge by selecting a course from the Independent Learning Centre (ILC).

FacilitiesNet

http://www.facilitiesnet.com

This site is designed for professionals who design, construct, manage and maintain buildings. Welcome to the interactive information resource for facilities professionals. This site features updated industry news; bulletin boards for peer-to-peer exchange; Building Operating Management, Maintenance Solutions, Energy Decisions and Education FM magazines. The site boasts a powerful search engine and information on the latest products and equipment. Access to the site is free once you have "signed" the online Guest Book and obtained your User Name and Password.
