For nearly 30 years, the Scottish Agricultural College has been compiling an extensive database of article titles and abstracts from the agricultural press. EDINA now offers Internet access to this database to allow rapid, effective searching of over 85,000 references.
AGDEX cites references from a diverse range of literature, ranging from the more populist farming press to scientific journals. Less widely available publications are also reviewed, directing users to specialised information from financial reports, field trials, etc. The new interface will allow any user to define combinations of search criteria and discover a range of articles on almost any agriculturally related subject. Updating the database weekly keeps AGDEX topical, whilst presenting references in chronological order provides an overview of historical development.
AGDEX is an invaluable resource to anyone interested in rural and environmental issues.
