Morgan Lovell is first construction company to win coveted Unisys Service Excellence Award

Workplace specialist Morgan Lovell has become the first construction company ever to win Unisys/Management Today Service Excellence Award. Morgan Lovell pipped sister company Roberts and Alenia Marconi Systems, Radar Division to top spot in the manufacturing and engineering category. Morgan Lovell and Roberts are both part of construction brands group Morgan Sindall plc. The awards are Britain's premier service excellence competition for business, sponsored by Unisys and organised by leading business magazine Management Today.

Charles Shaw, managing director of Morgan Lovell, says:

Morgan Lovell is the first company in the construction sector ever to win a Unisys/Management Today Service Excellence Award. Our company has now been recognised as a client-focused workplace specialist, offering the highest standard of service. The Unisys/Management Today Service "Excellence Awards, established 1996, recognise" outstanding dedication to customer service. Previous winners include First Direct, Halifax Bank and Virgin Direct Personal Financial Services.

Judging of the Unisys/Management Today Service Excellence Awards involves face-to-face interviews, visits to nominated companies and "mystery shoppers". It assesses firms under a list of headings including understanding customers, operational effectiveness and organisational agility (the ability to adapt to meet customer requirements). The judging panel includes representatives from Unisys, Management Today, the Cranfield School of Management and independent consultants, as well as previous winners.
