Underlines the need to be able to show the impact of training on employee skills and performance. Reviews why trainers do not evaluate the effect their training programmes have. Acknowledges that it is difficult to separate out the impact of training on skills and performance from other factors but argues that there are ways in which it can be done effectively. Explains these methods in some detail, describing how to estimate the impact of training by interviewing those who have undertaken the training or calculate it using ROI (return on investment) methodology to isolate the impact of training from other factors, and calculate its monetary value.ISSN: 1535-7740Reference: 40AR878
