The International Journal of Accounting and Information Management (IJAIM) is an international publication offering top quality empirical, theoretical, and conceptual papers designed to advance research in the field of accounting, finance, and information systems. It has an ISSN of 1834-7649 and is indexed and abstracted in SCOPUS, The British Library, Cabell’s Directory of Publishing Opportunities in Accounting, Economics and Finance, and Management and Marketing, EBSCO, OCLC – Electronic Collections Online, PROQUEST, RePEc: Research Papers in Economics, and EconLit. The mission of the IJAIM is to publish insightful, innovative, and impactful research on accounting, finance, and information systems with international context. The scope of the journal covers theoretical and empirical analysis relating to accounting, finance, and information systems. The IJAIM publishes for researchers, scholars, and executives alike; it aids the application of empirical research to advance all information-based phenomena of the business world. This year celebrates the mark of the 20th anniversary of the journal. Since I took up the position as Editor-in-Chief in 2007, the number of submissions has increased many-fold. As a result of such high submission rate, the number of issues has increased from two in 2007 to four in 2011. Articles published in the IJAIM contain significant results, high-quality methodological content, excellent exposition, and usually include a substantive empirical application. The IJAIM provides rigorous original research that contributes to the knowledge and theory of accounting, finance, and information systems. The IJAIM is headed by an accomplished editorial board consisting of international, prominent scholars in all three fields of accounting, finance, and information systems, and is supported by an excellent editorial office, as well as exceptional publishing auxiliaries. The names of the editorial board members can be found on www.ijaim.com. Since its publication in 1993, the IJAIM has maintained a very healthy backlog of accepted papers that matches the top journals in each of the three entailed fields. I am happy to report that IJAIM has today achieved the status as one of the most premier international journals in the interdisciplinary fields of accounting, finance, and information systems. The IJAIM welcomes and encourages articles from both practitioners and academicians. Since I have taken chief editorship, the IJAIM sponsors an annual conference: 2007 in Beijing, China with focus on globalization; 2008 in New Orleans, USA with focus on leadership; and 2009 in Macau, China with focus on ethics. The IJAIM will host its Fourth Annual Conference in Chennai, India with a theme on corporate governance.
