Dressing down
A survey by employment law firm Peninsula found that the majority of employers and their staff believe that “dress down” days improve work performance.
Some 84 per cent of employers report that “dress down” days have been a success in their firm, with 71 per cent saying they have motivated staff to increase productivity.
Employees overwhelmingly said they feel more at ease in casual clothing. Nearly two-thirds said they found the traditional formal dress codes at work restricting.
Since a similar survey five years ago, the number of firms introducing such schemes has increased by 20 per cent.
