Early this year, the US Department of Labor announced that US worker productivity had increased by 3.2 per cent in Q4 2008 and at 2.8 per cent over the full year. At the same time, a report announced that in firms that were laying-off workers in response to the economic downturn, even those who kept their jobs claimed that they became less productive. These two do not square up […] unless it is possible that workers feel unproductive even when they are in fact being more productive. Research needed, here!
