Berkeley: 2009 Campus Sustainability Plan and 2009 Campus Sustainability Report

Article Type: News From: International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education, Volume 11, Issue 1

The Office of Sustainability of the University of California at Berkeley has released two new documents that further define their campus sustainability goals and set a standard of transparency and accountability. The 2009 Campus Sustainability Plan defines a vision of long-term sustainability and describes steps being taken to achieve the vision. The plan will guide future work on campus and establish a structure to identify and achieve continuous improvement. The 2009 Campus Sustainability Report provides a transparent accounting of Berkeley’s environmental impacts, focusing on key indicators during fiscal year 2008-2009. Current conditions, achievements in the past year, and plans for the coming year are presented. Further details are available at: http://sustainability.berkeley.edu/
