UN-HABITAT, IESCO to cooperate on youth initiatives

The UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) signed an agreement of cooperation with the International Ecological Safety Collaborative Organization (IESCO) on the sidelines to the 24th Session of the UN-HABITAT Governing Council. The agreement will support urban youth initiatives, including climate change adaptation activities, youth empowerment and urban ecological safety programmes. The agreement will support four youth activities: surveys and publication of the State of the Urban Youth China Reports; training in ecological safety and entrepreneurship; an innovation awards programme; and an urban ecological safety index incorporating information on construction, city location, management, planning and positioning. These activities aim to promote youth innovation and participation, and to highlight best practices in ecological and urban safety and entrepreneurship.
