A large resource of patent information can be accessed through the services of the Patents Information Unit of Leeds City Libraries. It is renowned as one of the leading providers of patent information in the country, and holds a collection of over 25 million patent documents, providing scientific, commercial, technical and even historical information. This collection, from over 20 countries, includes a full set of GB patents from Number One in 1617 to the present, and among others German and US patents going back to the eighteenth century.
