Motoman introduces new SP100 robot: ideal manipulator for high-speed, heavy palletizing
The fast, four-axis SP100 robot offers flexibility in high-speed, high-payload palletizing and material handling tasks. The SP100 covers a large work envelope with high speed, even while handling large or heavy workpieces.
Featuring a 360° work envelope, the SP100 can service multiple infeed conveyors and/or pallet stations. Its fast axial speeds reduce cycle times and increase production output. The SP100 can handle up to 1,100 workpieces per hour, or 2,200 when moving two workpieces per pick (moving 2,000mm horizontally and 400mm vertically). The SP100 has a 100kg (220.5lb.) payload capacity, a 3,291mm (129.6in.) maximum reach (one of the longest in its class), and a ±0.5 mm (±0.02in.) repeatability.
The SP100 robot is controlled by Motoman's 32-bit, RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computing) architecture MRC controller. The industrial-proven, high-performance MRC features digital signal processors (DSP) for increased computational speed and AC servo technology for highly reliable, increased performance. An expanded, lightweight programming pendant is included with the MRC and features a 12-line, 40-character liquid crystal display (LCD). Custom programming pendant overlays and easy-to-use INFORM II programming language provide simplified programming.
