Simulation and off-line programming

www.camelot.dk/

Camelot is a Danish Software Company specializing in robot technology; this is their web site which is a good example of a company web site. It is easy to navigate and contains enough information without being so detailed you can not find what you need to know about the company's actives which include Ropsim, a Robot Offline Programming and SIMulation a simulation system for industrial robots. The usual case studies are detailed along with a couple of nice introduction articles about robot programming and robot simulation. A few screen shots and diagrams cheer up the site and make it pleasant to visit.

www.amrose.dk/

This Danish company specialises in the development of automation technology for the manufacturing industry. They have ten years of experience with advanced robotics and have set up a number of automation solutions which are detailed on their site; these include welding and painting applications. Case studies are available and briefly describe their activities. Papers the company has written are available to download as pdfs but many are in Danish and German which will not be useful for many of Industrial Robots readers.

Their off-line programming section gives information about their 3D simulation. The robot and product are modelled in CAD and examples of their work can be downloaded in DivX format a free viewer is available to download, unfortunately this area of their site is in Danish, obviously the visuals are ok to view but further details will require a translator if you only speak English.

Overall, this site would be excellent for a Danish speaker but would still be of some use for everyone else.

www.managingautomation.com

This is a massive site about automation with flashing advertising (quite annoying) lots of resources (quite useful) and a search facility (great to sort through all the irrelevant items). The search facility returns searches broken down into products, resources, news and magazine, this helps immensely as being a large site lots of results are returned so you need to be able to decide if you want to read a news article or get information about products in the area you have searched on. It is possible to subscribe to either a paper or electronic version of their magazine “Managing Automation”.

There is so much to this site it is impossible to write about every aspect of it however it is divided up into knowledge centres, directories, resources, tools, news, magazine, events and community. Each category has many sub-categories available on a drop down menu making it easy to go straight to the section you require.

You can register to become a member which gives you access to Industry white papers, product case studies and demos, and webcasts, Special member discounts and notifications to summits and events.

Overall, this is a huge site and some sections and information on it will be useful to Industrial Robot readers and those interested in simulation and offline programming.
