Financial subsidies for students in Hong Kong

Financial subsidies for students in Hong Kong

Students in Hong Kong who use Pitman's Chinese Language Word Processing qualification to retrain can have up to 90 per cent of their fees reimbursed by the Employees Retraining Board.

This new qualification is aimed at Chinese speakers who use word processing in their day-to-day work or studies, and is equal in status to its English language counterpart. Like this qualification, the Chinese language award uses examples taken from daily life and work, enabling students to develop a true understanding of the practical applications of word processing.

Quality standards are being ensured through special training sessions for tutors, providing them with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the syllabus. There are also a number of reference materials explaining the examination and marking processes.

There are plans to make the qualification available throughout the rest of China.
