There are now several Websites established to help schools and colleges worldwide link up to develop joint projects. Why not register your details and look for partners on the Net?

Windows on the World (http://www.wotw.org.uk) is the Central Bureau for Educational Visits and Exchanges' new Website which was set up to link schools and colleges worldwide and promote international curriculum projects. It includes a free, interactive partner-finding database, advice on developing your partnership and links to a range of exciting Internet projects. For further details contact the Central Bureau's Windows on the World team on 0171 389 4419 or e-mail: wotw@centralbureau.org.uk

DesignIt (http://www.designit.org) aims to encourage young people aged 16-19 from all ASEM countries to complete a joint design project using new technologies. The ASEM countries include all EU member states and Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, China, the Philippines, Japan and Korea. The DesignIt Website offers design themes in six areas: transport, information and communication, recycling and re-using, community spaces, fashion and identity, and new materials. Each theme presents three challenges for students to undertake in conjunction with partners in another country. DesignIt challenges can be integrated into the taught curriculum, offering an international dimension to students' studies. For further details contact the Central Bureau's DesignIt team on 0171 389 4247 or e-mail: designit@centralbureau.org.uk

Does your school or college want to develop a Joint Educational Project under Lingua Action E or a European Education Project under Comenius Action 1? If so, PartBase (http:// partbase.eupro/se) could be the answer to the potential problem of finding partners. PartBase is an online, partner-finding database which allows schools and colleges within Europe to register their own institution or search for schools/colleges already registered according to specific criteria. Once you have been registered, a user password will prevent unauthorised access to your details. Using PartBase is free and access is open to institutions in the Socrates participating countries.
