Lloyds TSB launches corporate university

Keywords Training, Learning

Lloyds TSB has launched what is likely to be the largest corporate “university” in Europe – the University for Lloyds TSB. All 77,000 employees of Lloyds TSB will be able to benefit from a comprehensive learning network through a variety of channels.

The primary aim of the University for Lloyds TSB is to make training more accessible to staff. The training will reflect the requirements for employees, particularly tailored to the needs of those working for the company.

The University for Lloyds TSB will consist of:

  • Central and regional training centres providing residential training in a wide variety of subjects.

  • A flexible learning library delivering distance learning materials to local offices.

  • A network of training and development centres equipped with the latest technology and providing a wide range of training materials.

  • Local on-line training delivered through multimedia PC workstations. Use of the Internet will allow home-based learning.

The University for Lloyds TSB will allow employees to achieve recognition for their learning internally and externally against nationally recognized qualifications. Eventually, it is hoped that employees will be able to use these as access qualifications to external degree and MBA courses.
