Vickers Defence Systems enters joint venture with AdVal Group plc
Keywords: Joint ventures, Learning, Engineering
Vickers Defence Systems, the defence division of Vickers Engineering plc, is forming a joint venture company with AdVal Group plc, the people development and learning technology company.
The joint venture company will offer a whole spectrum of defence training services and products – from needs analysis for major contracts to face-to-face training and advanced learning technologies – to UK and overseas markets.
Dennis Quilter, chief executive of AdVal, said:
AdVal and Vickers have worked together for the past three years on large and complex training projects. It is this partnership that has provided a firm basis from which to take forward the joint venture company. We will address together the significant UK market and the worldwide market estimated at £2 billion per annum, offering tried and tested people development services. Given our internal expertise, knowledge and existing presence, AdVal and Vickers are perfect partners to meet the needs of the defence training market.
Colin Clark, chief executive of Vickers Defence Systems, said:
Vickers is well-known for its engineering and systems integration capability but has moved substantially in recent years to become a major service provider to the defence industry. The joint venture will further strengthen this position and expand, with AdVal, our offering in human resource services and products across the whole defence market.
