New agreement shapes South Africa's health and safety provisionKeywords: Health and Safety, South Africa, Qualifications

City & Guilds International and the National Occupational Safety Association of South Africa (NOSA) are working together to establish a framework of national qualifications which will be recognised all over the world. For the past two years, NOSA has been revising its health and safety provision in line with emerging national standards developed by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). The predicted uptake for NOSA's new training programmes is 12,000 candidates in the first year rising to 60,000 per year over the next three years. This will have a significant impact on health and safety in a range of workplaces all over the country and across the globe.
