Research by Ascot Systems, a leading designer and supplier of distance learning and classroom IT training delivery systems, has discovered that there is widespread confusion over how online courses can help address training needs. As a result, training managers find it difficult to present a business case for the necessary funding. More than 50 per cent of those surveyed were unclear how learning over the Internet works. Equally, they could not articulate the benefits in comparison with traditional classroom-based training.
In response to these findings, Ascot Systems has launched a guide to Web-based learning for training managers and HR staff. The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) fact sheet outlines the ten most common queries relating to online courses. Areas include how Web-based training works, which types of organizations will find it useful, the impact on the existing IT infrastructure and key benefits.
The FAQ fact sheet highlights how online remote learning systems give a high element of visual and audio interactivity and control. It also covers how Web-based courses can help train remote and geographically dispersed staff more cost-effectively than traditional classroom-based tuition.
