BBC Training & Development has opened a new training studio in central London. The Marylebone Studio, part of BBC Training & Development's centre in Marylebone High Street, will be used for training BBC staff and other broadcasting professionals.
The facilities at Marylebone High Street focus on production training for television, radio and multimedia. In addition to providing a modern broadcast environment – including a digital widescreen vision system – the new studio adds a further dimension to training through the installation of remote camera points and tie lines to some of the training rooms at Marylebone High Street.
The studio will be used to run television familiarisation courses for people who are not directly involved in production itself, but need to understand the processes – and to offer tailored modules to those from the broadcast industry and the business sector who are involved in programme making.
BBC Training & Development is the world's largest broadcasts training organisation, training BBC staff as well as the international production and broadcasting industry.
BBC Training & Development centres are situated at Marylebone High Street in central London, Wood Norton near Evesham, Elstree, Bush House in London (for the World Service), Bristol, Television Centre and White City in London, with World Service Training Trust schools based in Bucharest, Sarajevo and Ekaterinburg.
