Nightingale Conant, in association with Total Language Solutions, has launched a new language coaching programme aimed at business people with busy lifestyles who need to learn a language quickly and don't want to take time out of their jobs to do it.

The 12-week course is unique because students learn in a class of one, over the telephone, at a time and date to suit them. Personal tutors tailor the telephone classes to suit each student's individual needs with vocabulary relevant to their particular industry, products and services.

Alongside the telephone conversation classes, students also receive a set of ten audio cassettes and a work book with exercises. The cassettes can be listened to in the students' own time, at a pace to suit them, and cover vocabulary, grammar, interactive role plays in business situations, and speaking and listening exercises.

Students learn quickly without taking time out of their jobs to attend residential or evening classes. All they need is access to a telephone.

The course has been designed for people who need to reach the right person abroad, hold a telephone conversation, set up or run a meeting, present their products or services, talk to customers, attend a trade fair or exhibition abroad or acquire a company overseas.

  expressing your intentions and wishes;

  timing and sequence of events;

  talking about the future – what you intend to do;

  talking about the past – what you have already done;

  making yourself understood.

The course is currently available in German and will shortly be available in Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.
