The prestigious European Women of Achievement Award 2000 in the "entrepreneur" category was awarded to Liz Willis and Jenny Daisley, chair and chief executive of the Springboard Consultancy. The award is "in recognition of an outstanding contribution to pan-European understanding and progress that provides an inspiration to others".

Liz and Jenny won the award against stiff competition from all over Europe for their work, most especially their "Springboard Women's Development Programme", which has been delivered to 105,000 women in nine European countries, through a network of 385 carefully selected, trained and licensed Springboard trainers. The award also recognizes their consultancy work in Eastern Europe as well as their recent launch of a men's development programme, "Navigator".

The annual award is organized, judged and presented by the European Union of Women, which exists to draw attention to the contribution of women to progress in Europe.

Liz Willis and Jenny Daisley said, "We are over the moon about this! It's the culmination of 12 years work, which we would not have achieved without the support, commitment and hard work of thousands of other women across Europe – clients, trainers and course participants – so this is for them too."
