The 16th edition of The Personnel Manager's Yearbook reflects the enormous changes affecting the world of work being brought about by increased mergers and acquisitions and technological advance in major companies and their suppliers.

Published by AP Information Services, the directory and database publishers, the new annual, completely revised and updated, contains personnel contacts in over 9,500 major UK companies plus 4,300 supplier and adviser contact details of particular relevance for personnel professionals.

The Reward Group Salary Survey published in this latest edition contains an extensive report detailing salary levels of personnel professionals.

Writing in her introduction, Helen Irwin, editor of the 2000/2001 edition of the Yearbook, highlights a new section in the directory on outsourcing and notes that this currently small section is envisaged to be a pointer in the future. She comments: "This transfer of personnel functions away from the core HR department is creating a lot of current debate on what lies ahead for the profession and highlights an important link between those departments and external companies".

New to the resource of personnel contacts in this 2000/2001 edition are details of directors of legal services and heads of compensation and benefits, giving an even more comprehensive overview of the human resources scene.

The Personnel Manager's Yearbook costs £94.75, plus postage and packing and is available from AP Information Services, Marlborough House, 298 Regent's Park Road, London N3 2UU. Tel: 020 8348 9988; Fax: 020 8349 9797; E-mail: info@ap-info.co.uk
