Atkins signs partnership deal

A partnership deal to deliver corporate learning has been signed by global consultancy group Atkins and the University of Leeds, England. The partnership will create a gateway to knowledge from across the university, and strengthen the learning and consultancy services delivered by Atkins.

The partnership provides a framework for developing and providing accredited training, which draws upon the university's range of academic resources and Atkins's experience in design and delivery. The work-based programmes, in subjects such as project management and strategy development, will be tailored to clients' needs, and use Atkins's consultancy experience.

Professor Sir Alan Wilson, Leeds University vice-chancellor, said: "The partnership will offer businesses access to a wealth of knowledge with the benefit of Atkins's experience in guiding organizations through change. It will also strengthen links between the private sector and higher education."

The Atkins Centre for Corporate Learning (ACCL) offers learning solutions and management-consultancy services to public and private-sector organizations. Existing clients of Atkins Management Consultants include the UK's Department for Work and Pensions, Canon UK, Siemens and the UK Financial Services Authority.

The ACCL director, Peter Millard, explained: "For organizations that recognize the benefits of people being at the heart of change, ACCL provides an opportunity to work with a partner dedicated to the development of the individual and the team. The investment made in learning is repaid many times over throughout an organization."
