Education and training for entrepreneurship are among the topics that trade and industry ministers of the EU member states would like to see in a new European charter for small businesses.
The ministers, meeting in the European Council, called on the commission to propose an action plan on the subject by the end of the year.
The plan would help member states to consult and involve small firms in policy making, improve their access to capital, boost information and technology transfer and facilitate small firms' access to the single European market.
