Conference highlights good training practice
Training specialists from across Europe exchanged ideas at a conference in Stockholm to improve workforce skills and training systems.
The two-day meeting was open to all European states, but specifically geared to the ten accession countries. It featured the recent results of the EU's Leonardo vocational-training programme, launched in 1995.
Some 200 people took part, representing national and regional authorities, EU and other international institutions, universities, trade unions, employer organisations and non-governmental organisations.
Workshops concentrated on: transparency and recognition of competencies; vocational-training systems, quality assurance and reforms; informal learning; and the quality and impact of mobility projects.
