"A 'critical' time for HRD?"

Sally Sambrook studied and worked at Nottingham Business School for eight years, and retains her links there as a Visiting Research Fellow in HRD. She joined the University of Wales Bangor (UWB) in 1999 and, after several years as Lecturer in Human Resource Management (HRM), joined the Faculty of Health, where she is Programme Leader for the MSc in Health and Social Care Leadership. Sally leads several modules, including Research Methods, Managing and Developing People, Organisational Behaviour and Leadership, on the MSc programmes. With her nursing background and involvement in training other nurses, her research interests include studying human resource development (HRD) within the health service. In addition, she researches the changing role of HRD professionals, managers and learners, explores the factors influencing learning in work and has recently become interested in a critical approach to the study of HRD. She has published numerous journal articles and edited texts and book chapters on HRD.
